Another authoritative publication is reporting that Aldo Costa could emerge at Mercedes GP next year.

Ferrari’s ousted technical director is currently on ’gardening leave’ but Autosprint reported last month that Costa could soon reunite with his former boss Ross Brawn.

"The plan of the German team for 2012 is the acquisition of the Italian (Costa) as a coordinator of the engineers," Pino Allievi, the veteran La Gazzetta dello Sport correspondent, wrote.

Commented Mercedes team boss Brawn: "Aldo is a friend, someone I really like and an excellent technician, but our structure is fairly definitive."

Allievi said Costa could not be contacted but he is known to be "considering all proposals" from other UK-based F1 teams.
