The second day of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit got off to a promising start for the Marussia F1 Team, with Max Chilton able to conduct several runs of the planned aerodynamic evaluation programme. He completed 14 laps before a fuel system problem surfaced around midday.
The work to identify and fix the issue took up much of the afternoon but the Team were able to resolve it and return Max to the track for three valuable laps before the end of the session.
Max will be back in the car on Friday to complete the aero programme and the Team hopes for a better run at putting some good mileage on the MR03.

“My first day in the car got off to a good start. We were getting into the aero programme and gradually building towards some longer runs. Unfortunately we experienced the fuel system problem and to get to the root of that is quite a long and complicated process, so it took up most of the afternoon. We were seriously up against it time-wise, so all credit to the guys for pushing so hard and enabling us to get a further three laps in before the session end. These problems are all part of testing of course but we hope to start putting some bigger mileage on the car over the next couple of days.”
