Ecclestone upbeat over Monza F1 future

Bernie Ecclestone is now sounding more confident about the future of the historic Italian grand prix.

Earlier, the Monza race seemed endangered for financial reasons, as the F1 supremo warned: "I hope we don’t lose it but I think there is a good chance we will."

But Ecclestone has now told Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport: "We will find the right solution — I no longer have doubts about a future for the Italian grand prix.

"Things have been clarified," the 85-year-old Briton added in an interview with the well-known correspondent Pino Allievi. "There is only one go-between now, (automobile club chief Angelo) Sticci Damiani."
