"We know that there is still a long way to go"

Ferrari on Tuesday denied reports Pat Fry has been sacked.

The Maranello team recently did not confirm speculation engine chief Luca Marmorini has been similarly ousted.

Chassis chief James Allison, hard at work on the 2015 project, is undoubtedly safe, but Britain’s Sky on Tuesday suggested fellow Briton Fry, officially Ferrari’s engineering director, has been axed amid the team’s struggles this year.

Sky said a team spokesman on Tuesday ’rejected’ the reports.

As recently as Sunday, former McLaren technical chief Fry was quoted officially by Ferrari as welcoming a stronger result in Hungary.

"We know that there is still a long way to go, but we will spare nothing in our efforts, continuing to work hard to improve, day by day," he said.
