Sergio Marchionne said the Maranello team is "much more optimistic" about its title-winning chances for 2016.

The Ferrari and Fiat Chrysler president was absent on Friday as the fabled Maranello team revealed its new red and white car for 2016.

When asked about the goal, team boss Maurizio Arrivabene said during the online launch: "I am not setting the objectives, my boss sets the objective for the team. And this year we need to push a bit more.

"We would like to fight until the end for the championship," he added.

While that event was taking place, Marchionne was meeting with Italian industry colleagues in Turin, but he declared: "It’s a great car and we’ll see it on track on Monday.

"But they (the team) have worked on it for a year and are much more optimistic than last year," he is quoted by Italian media as saying.
