Late start aids extra VJM03 design time

Force India begin their pre-season test programme this Wednesday at Jerez with both Adrian Sutil and Tonio Liuzzi driving the 2010 challenger for the first time.

The Silverstone-based team opted not to test last week, preferring to maximise wind tunnel time with the new Mercedes-powered VJM03 design.

“We always took the view that we’d rather keep going for another week with aero development," design director Mark Smith told Autosport. "It’s always difficult with limited testing but as long as we are ready to go the Jerez test with a car that will run then it’s better for us to go that little bit later."

The team will unveil the VJM03 Tuesday morning at 10.00am CET.
