The protracted wait for confirmation of Force India’s 2012 lineup is set to drag on even longer.

Team boss Vijay Mallya set and then missed a series of deadlines to announce next year’s drivers, before then returning to his promise of clarity by December 15.

That deadline came and went on Thursday with no news, albeit amid strong speculation that Paul di Resta will race the Silverstone based team’s 2012 car alongside Nico Hulkenberg.

Hulkenberg’s manager Timo Gans said on Thursday that the wait should finally be over on Friday.

But he said on Friday: "I’m afraid we all have to wait a little longer than today. Sorry for that again.

"Don’t worry everybody. I understand you’re excited about the announcement like we all are, but sometimes things cannot be hurried."
