Paul di Resta is expected to be confirmed shortly as Force India’s test and reserve driver.
With his strong Mercedes links, di Resta tested with the team in December alongside JR Hildebrand and, according to the BBC, should be confirmed at the Silverstone-based team today.
The Scotsman competed in the DTM over the last three years, finishing second in the championship in 2008. Prior to that, he won the F3 Euroseries in 2006.
While test and reserve drivers now get little or no running during the season, di Resta’s deal is thought to allow him to run during the Friday practice sessions at the Grand Prix weekend.
Last week he confirmed to the DailyRecord that his Force India deal was ’90 percent there.’
