"Michael is full of respect for the DTM drivers"

Norbert Haug has refused to rule out the possibility of a future in the DTM series for Michael Schumacher.

Although all parties have dismissed speculation the seven time world champion is set to call time on his F1 comeback, Mercedes chief Haug admitted the idea of both Michael and Ralf Schumacher driving in the German touring car series is not far-fetched.

"Michael is full of respect for the DTM drivers," he told the DPA news agency. "At some point he will definitely test our new DTM coupe for 2012."

A race seat in DTM could then be discussed if and when "Michael no longer wants to drive in formula one", added Haug.
