This weekend Renault F1 Team Reserve Driver, Jan Charouz, is competing in round four of the World Series by Renault in Brno, Czech Republic with P1 Motorsport. In today’s race Jan finished 7th overall and won in rookie’s classification.
In addition to his World Series by Renault duties, Jan is also demonstrating the Renault F1 Team’s 2009 race car, the R29, as part of the latest Renault F1 Team Roadshow. Earlier today he completed his first run in the car, wowing the local fans with some quick laps of the 5.4km circuit and performing some spectacular donuts. A further demonstration is planned for Sunday afternoon.
Jan will be back in the R29 on the 22nd of August to take part in the Rotterdam City Racing event in Holland, driving the Renault F1 car through the streets of the city. This event attracts around 500,000 fans annually to Rotterdam.
"The chance to demonstrate the R29 here in Brno today is something that I have been looking forward to all season," said Jan Charouz. "Driving an F1 car is always special, but to do it in my home country was great fun. The performance of car felt amazing and it’s not very often that the Czech fans get to see an F1 car at our local track, so I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did."
