Michael Schumacher issued 5-place grid penalty for Monaco GP

The 7-time World Champion will endure a difficult Monaco GP

Michael Schumacher has been issued a 5-place grid penalty for the Monaco Grand Prix, after the 7-time World Champion was deemed to have caused the collision between himself and Bruno Senna. Both drivers subsequently retired after the incident, with both blaming each other for the collision.

After Michael Schumacher proceeded to call the Brazilian driver an idiot straight after the incident, the race stewards announced they would investigate the incident after the race. And after a stunningly entertaining event, the stewards have finally come to the conclusion that Schumacher was in the wrong and that a penalty was deserved.

This means that Michael Schumacher will suffer another difficult weekend at Monaco, a track notorious for the difficulties in overtaking. Schumacher has won five times around the Monte-Carlo circuit, the last victory coming in 2001. It looks highly unlikely that Schumacher will be able to make it six races victories at Monaco in two weeks time.
