Red Bull Chief Technical Officer was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in recognition of his services to motorsport by Her Royal Highness The Queen yesterday.

The service, which took place at Windsor Castle, highlighted Adrian Newey for his services to motorsport having designed eight Formula One World Championship winning cars - six with Williams and McLaren and a further two with our team here in Milton Keynes. Working with Red Bull Racing’s engineers and designers, Adrian penned the Championship-winning RB7 and RB8, which also helped Sebastian achieve the World Driver’s titles in 2010 and 2011.

The British New Years Honours List pays homage to those who have made an outstanding achievement, or service to the United Kingdom.

Nigell Mansell, who won the 1992 Formula One World Championship in a Newey-designed car, was also recognised - with a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to children and young people owing to his work as President of the UK Youth Charity.
