Nico Rosberg has now joined his teammate Michael Schumacher in writing off the 2010 world championship.

"We’re in a situation where we cannot win the titles anymore," said the German, who is sixth in the drivers’ standings and sixth on the grid for Sunday’s Hungarian grand prix.

"There are a few tracks where we should look good, like Monza and Singapore, but we now have to mainly look to next year," Rosberg is quoted by Auto Motor und Sport.

"We want to be world champion (in 2011)," he added.

Meanwhile, the Cologne tabloid Express claims that Mercedes has advised him to no longer describe the 2010 car or his track outings as a "disaster" or a "catastrophe".

Rosberg admitted that those words can be "misunderstood".
