From dinosaurs and cheese to dream grids and haircuts; Romain takes time out to answer some truly weird and wonderful questions from the fans.
What track (not currently on the F1 calendar) would you like to drive?
That’s an easy one... it would be Pau! A fantastic street circuit in the South West of France that is like a mix of Macau and Monaco. I’ve had six races there and won four of them which makes it even more special!
What is your favourite dinosaur?
Hmmm, I’m not sure I could choose... I would have loved to meet a real one though!
What other sports are you interested in outside of motorsport?
I love tennis, judo and cycling! The first two are really good for improving your reflexes and cycling is great cardio vascular work! Downhill rides are always fun as when you pick up speed it’s important to choose a good line.
You’ve said that you could see yourself having a normal job after Formula 1; what would you like to do?
I would love to be able to open my own restaurant and help the chef to cook sometimes!
If you could race against any driver from the past who would it be?
If we could take every World Champion and compete against them that would be awesome!
Why did you cut your hair short?
The real question is why I let it get so long in the first place!
What is your favourite band / musician?
I don’t have favorite band, but I like to listen to music sometimes before the race or during a quick siesta.
If you could explore any part of the world, where would you choose?
Paradise for me would be Mauritius or Bali. I’ve been very lucky to visit those places and can’t wait to go back again!
If you weren’t a professional driver, what would you like to be?
Definitely an aerodynamic engineer. I’ve always wanted to be involved in motorsport even if I hadn’t become a driver, so for me that would have been the best alternative!
What is your favourite cheese?
Without hesitation I’d say Vacherin Mont d’or and Gruyere.
We hear you’re a good cook; what is your speciality dish?
I love to cook French food but if I can add a bit of a Swiss touch I go for it! Generally I love to cook with different sea food, foie gras and mushrooms.
