Nico Rosberg had expected to run the #3 on his Mercedes challenger this year but with the arrival of Michael Schumacher and his preference for odd numbers, Rosberg will now race the #4. Rosberg however claims it is not an issue and does not signify driver status within the new team.
Rosberg told L’Equipe that he is targeting his first Grand Prix win as the season gets underway in Bahrain in March and that he believes he will have equal equipment to Schumacher, even if it will be the seven-time champion that gets all of the media and fan attention.
"All attention will be paid to him, and I will have time to concentrate on my work," Rosberg declared. "And when I win in Bahrain, we do care about the number that is on my car but the driver is inside!"
