"We did not have anyone else under contract"

The failed American team USF1 has denied it had two drivers under contract to contest the 2010 season.

The plight of the Argentine government-backed Jose Maria Lopez, and his subsequent extrication from the contract, is well known.

But it was also reported in recent days that the Briton James Rossiter, or perhaps the Serbian Milos Pavlovic, had signed to be Lopez’s teammate.

"We had discussions with other drivers but did not have anyone else under contract," USF1 team boss Ken Anderson told Germany’s motorsport-total.com.

Anderson also revealed that, out of the Charlotte based team’s European headquarters in Spain, USF1 would have used motor homes purchased from Brawn GP.

"They were the old motor homes of the Honda test team," he said. "They had only 1500 miles on them, because they drove only between Brackley and Silverstone."

"We had painted them and they were ready. On the equipment side we have everything that you need," added Anderson.
