Limited options for the 1997 world champion

Jacques Villeneuve has not given up on his hopes of landing a Formula One seat this year and after taking in the start of the Winter Olympics, is heading back to Europe to try and secure a deal.

“I’m returning to Europe immediately,” the 1997 world champion told Ruefrontenac in Vancouver. "There are limited seats, but I continue to work. I continue to work hard to explain to teams why it is a good idea to put me in the car and, frankly, I feel the message is getting better and better.

“I’m convinced that many teams are disillusioned over the choices they have made.”

Currently only USF1 and Campos Meta have potential vacancies, but with the future of both teams somewhat doubtful, Villeneuve is once again been linked with Renault.
