Giandomenico Basso will lead the field away on day two of Rallye Sanremo, round 10 of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Basso is first on the road after moving into first place on Friday night’s final stage, which he completed 15.5s faster than any other driver.

Although bright sunshine has descended on service in Sanremo and over the rally route, significant damp patches remain on the first stage of the day, which has made tyre choice a lottery and, ultimately a compromise, due to the fact the road surface on stage two is understood to be completely dry.

Both morning stages measure more than 29 kilometres in length with the first, Ceppo 1, due to start at 09:00hrs local time.
