Bryan Bouffier hopes his appearance in a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 on Barum Czech Rally Zlín last weekend won’t be his last in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season.

The French ace held a lead of 7.2 seconds starting the penultimate test of the rain-hit all-asphalt rally in southeast Czech Republic only to go off twice on successive stages, dropping to 10th in the final classification as a result.

Despite his late disappointment, Bouffier said there were plenty of positive aspects from the rally to reflect upon after going fastest on three special stages.

“It was a really nice battle but the result is very bad so next time I hope for more,” said Bouffier. “For sure I’m disappointed because it was possible to win this rally. We had some bad luck but we did some very good times and our Peugeot was working very well on what was a very difficult rally.”
