Team Rapax is proud to announce the agreement reached with Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, who will be lining-up at the start of the 2014 GP2 Series with the Italian-based squad. The 23-year-old British racer is set to partner the already-confirmed Simon Trummer in an high-quality pairing for the 10th season of the Formula 1 feeder series.
Quaife-Hobbs will be at his second GP2 Series season. Last year, at his maiden run in the series, he went on to score an impressive win. With its driver line-up for the 2014 season now complete, Team Rapax is ready to go back on-track for the first collective test of the year set for March 11th to 13th at the Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi. The championship will kick-off on the 5th and 6th of April at Al Sakhir, Bahrain.
Adrian Quaife-Hobbs
“I am delighted to be joining Rapax for my 2014 season in GP2. After a successful rookie year in the 2013 GP2 season I am looking forward to returning this season to fight for the championship. Together with Rapax I feel we can have a winning season. I am looking forward to getting in the car in Abu Dhabi for pre-season testing and working alongside a great team”.
Andrea Bergamini, CEO
“I am very happy and proud to have Adrian in our Team. He is one of the most impressive young drivers of the last season and he will be forming an high-quality couple with Simon. Adrian can also benefit from the good developmental path he has enjoyed. He grew up season after season and did well in all the series he entered so far. I am also happy to welcome a driver from the British tradition. I expect a top-class mix together with the Italian professionalism of Team Rapax”.
