Andreas Aigner has called on former Intercontinental Rally Challenge regular Franz Wittmann Jr to prepare for his week’s Geko Ypres Rally.

Subaru Impreza driver Aigner, who won the IRC Production Cup section of Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse last month, has never competed on the Belgian rally before so turned to Wittmann Jr, who took part on the event in 2010, for advice.

“The stages here in Belgium are really fast with lots of hidden, tricky sections,” said Aigner. “It is really important to create an absolutely perfect pacenotes but for the set-up there are many different characteristics to cope with.”

Despite his lack of event knowledge, Aigner is one of the favourites for IRC Production Cup success in Ypres in the Stohl Racing-run R4-specification Impreza she shares with fellow Austrian Daniela Ertl.
