After the great results from Spa-Francorchamps, Alvaro Parente will race again in Monza with Scuderia Coloni, something that leaves him very pleased and with the steel will of achieving the results that are in the reach of his talent.

The Portuguese driver was the man of the weekend at the Belgian round of the series, as he grabbed two podiums and was the best points scorer.

That’s why going on with the Italian outfit was a natural choice: Paolo Coloni, the team leader, was very impressed with Parente’s competitiveness and Alvaro was delighted with the speed of the car he was given in Spa. So, in less than two weeks time the Portuguese driver will defend the team’s colours in its home race, something that obviously leaves Parente very pleased. “This is a championship that I would like to do since the beginning of the season, but this year it wasn’t possible to do it, so racing again with Coloni is fantastic. This is a great opportunity because GP2 is the series that is more similar to Formula 1 so I’ll try to thank to the team with good results. I would like to thank, also, to my sponsors and to my fans, who are very supportive, for believing in me”, said the Portuguese driver.

After the fantastic results that he achieved in Belgium, where he fought for the first race victory and scored two podiums, Alvaro Parente will be at Monza with strong ambitions, but he knows that he will face hard competition at the historic Italian circuit. “I’ll go to Monza with the same spirit that I showed at Spa-Francorchamps confident that the team will give me a car as quick as the one I had in Spa, which was one of the best I’v e ever driven. I’ll try to fight for good results. The GP2 field is very competitive, so I can’t promise podiums or wins, but I can guarantee that I’ll give my best every time I’ll be on track”, concluded the Portuguese youngster.
