Jérémi Ancian insists his six-event FIA European Rally Championship campaign will be more than just a learning exercise.

Ancian, 28, has signed up to the new Peugeot Rally Academy to drive a 207 Super 2000 after winning the Volant 207 one-make title in France last season.

“It’s great to be a part of this because I have been trying to get to this level for several years now,” said Ancian. “This programme will give us the chance to show our speed outside of the French championship. The aim will be to get to know the 207 Super 2000 in the first few rounds and then try and fight for a spot on the podium towards the end of the championship.”

Ancian will begin his campaign on SATA Rallye Açores from 25-28 April. He will also compete in Corsica, San Marino, Poland, Italy (Sanremo) and Switzerland (Rallye du Valais).
