PG Andersson says he cannot wait to make his Barum Czech Rally Zlín debut when the event gets underway with a superspecial stage through the streets of the host city tomorrow night.
The Swede is embarking on a major assault on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season in a PROTON Motorsports Satria Neo Super 2000. The Czech asphalt round marks his fifth appearance of the year alongside co-driver Emil Axelsson.
“I haven’t competed in Zlín before, but I have heard a lot about the rally,” said Andersson, 30. “I’m looking forward to getting out there and driving again to chase a good result. It’s also nice to drive on a rally with a really good atmosphere. I think it’s going to be a great event.
“The roads on this rally can be quite bumpy with some broken Tarmac, which is good for me – this kind of condition suits me quite well.”
Andersson has yet to score in the IRC this season. However, PROTON has scored manufacturers’ championship points on two occasions.
