Rebellion Racing has announced its full driver line-up for the forthcoming 78th edition of Le Mans 24 Hours. Marco Andretti will drive alongside Nicolas Prost and Neel Jani in the #12 Lola-Rebellion LMP1 during the legendary Le Mans race.

The team has already announced that Guy Smith will drive the #13 Lola-Rebellion alongside Andrea Belicchi and Jean-Christophe Boullion at Le Mans.

The son of Michael and grandson of racing legend Mario will have his first drive in the Lola-Rebellion when he joins the team during the official Le Mans Series test days at the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track on 7th and 8th March.

Andretti won the 2004 Barber Formula Dodge National and Southern class. In 2005 he raced in the Star Mazda series and also competed in six races in the Indy Pro Series, winning three of them. He moved to IndyCar in 2006, earning the Rookie of the Year performance at Indianapolis 500 and finishing second in the race.

From that time, his career has been focused on IndyCar finishing seventh in the series in 2006 and 2008 and scoring another Indy 500 podium in 2008.

Aside from IndyCar, in 2006 and 2007 Andretti took part in Honda F1 testing and in 2008 he raced with the Acura LMP2 at the Sebring 12 Hours and Petit Le Mans, on both occasions delivering great performances in a prototype. He was also A1 Team USA driver during the 2008-09 A1 Grand Prix season.

"We believe that Marco will fit perfectly with his two co-drivers in the #12 Lola-Rebellion," said team manager Bart Hayden. "He has shown that he has the ability to compete at the highest level of motorsport. All three drivers in the #12 car raced at the same time in the A1GP series so they know each other from those days. When we get to Le Mans, Marco will be able to draw on the experience of the rest of the guys in the team and we are looking forward to seeing him in the car at the Paul Ricard test in March.”
