Scuderia Coloni has defined its line-up for the GP2 Main Series: Vladimir Arabadzhiev will jump in the Italian team’s Dallara-Renault car, besides the already confirmed Alberto Valerio.
26 years-old, from Bulgaria, Arabadzhiev has just completed his first GP2 Asia campaign and, apart from testing, will be debuting in the Main Series. Throughout his career, he raced in F3, in Euroseries 3000 and in Formula Master where, in 2008, he had his best season, finishing runner up in the Italian Championship with 4 wins, two pole positions and six podium finishes.
Committing to the Main Series will be another step forward for Vladimir, something that will give him the chance to race under the eyes of the F1 team managers and to get some experience on the Formula 1 tracks.
Vladimir’s debut in the Coloni colours will be at the Paul Ricard testing days, planned for March 23-24-25. For the Bulgarian driver it will be the third test on the Main Series car.
Paolo Coloni: “We are happy to welcome Vladimir in our team. With his addition, we feel that we secured ourselves the best talent among the Main Series newcomers. I saw him racing in the Asia Series, and I was impressed by both his total commitment and his enthusiasm everytime he was driving the car. With Vladimir and Alberto we are sure that we will have a great season”.
Vladimir Arabadzhiev: “I’m very happy to drive with Scuderia Coloni, they have been in impressive shape in all the GP2 Asia races, so I have good expectations for the coming season. Personally, I hope to get good results soon, and to get a lot of experience not only in the car but also learning how you have to work in a GP2 team. In Le Castellet I’ll work very hard in order to prepare for the season in the best possible way”.
