The Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T remains the heaviest car according to the calculation based on the lap times set in the three previous events (Brazil, USA and Japan) and will be laden with the maximum 40kg ballast.

The only change compared to the races at Suzuka concerns the BMW 320 TC cars that, despite Stefano D’Aste’s victory in Japan, lose ten kilos, benefiting from a 20kg reduction of their minimum weight, just like the Ford Focus and SUNRED León 1.6T.

The SEAT León will carry again 30 kilos of compensation weight, while the Honda Civic and BMW 320si will carry no ballast on their second outing in the championship. For them the compensation weight will be applied for the following event at Macau.

Without ballast are also those cars that make their first appearance in the current season: Chevrolet Cruze LT, Chevrolet Lacetti and Honda Accord Euro R.

Compensation weight Shanghai :

 + 40 kg : Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T
 + 30 kg : SEAT León WTCC
± 0 kg : BMW 320si, Chevrolet Cruze LT, Chevrolet Lacetti, Honda Accord Euro R, Honda Civic
 - 20 kg : BMW 320 TC, Ford Focus S2000, SUNRED León 1.6T (+20 kg, decision #40 TCC)
