Penalties announced by the race stewards after this afternoon’s feature race in Barcelona have seen the finishing order changed, with Jolyon Palmer’s penalty handing third place to Jon Lancaster, promoting newcomers Hilmer Motorsport to their first double podium in the series.

Palmer was handed a drive through penalty for forcing countryman Sam Bird off the circuit in the closing laps of the race, which was translated to a 20 second time penalty post race: as a result Palmer drops from third to tenth place.

Bird was also given a penalty: the Briton drops five places on tomorrow’s grid for causing a collision with Marcus Ericsson, the damage from which saw today’s polesitter retire from the race.

Nathanaël Berthon was handed a ten place grid penalty for the sprint race for causing a collision at turn 10 with Sergio Canamasas and and Tom Dillmann, which saw the Spaniard retire from the race.
