All three factory LADA drivers scored points in both action-packed races when the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife hosted rounds nine and 10 of the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
Hugo Valente was the Rosneft-backed squad’s top scorer in the Opening Race, bringing his works Vesta home in sixth place, a result team-mate Nicky Catsburg emulated in the Main Race.
The Dutchman had been LADA’s best performer during Friday qualifying, which proved a troubled affair for Valente following a crash at an estimated 260kph, which the Frenchman put down to a tyre failure. It also led to LADA’s non-participation in the Manufacturers Against the Clock team time trial.
Gabriele Tarquini was also in action for LADA in Germany and returned to his native Italy with a seventh and ninth.
LADA’s home event is next with the Moscow Raceway hosting FIA WTCC Rosneft Race of Russia from 10-11 June.
