Leading Serbian driver Dušan Borković has been handed a huge boost ahead of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship getting underway in March.
Borković, who claimed a career-high second place in the JVC Kenwood WTCC Race of Japan back in October, has secured backing from the Serbian Automobile Association and AMS Insurance. They will join his existing roster of supporters for his upcoming WTCC campaign.
"I would like to thank Automobile Association for recognising the importance of our project for Serbia,” said Borković at a press conference in his homeland on Monday. “I will do my best to get even better results next year together with my sponsors.”
President of the Serbian Automobile Association, Mirko Butulija, expressed his delight after agreeing to help Borković. He also confirmed that the organisation would undertake a programme of promoting road safety and improving motorsport in Serbia.
The 2014 season was Borković’s first in the WTCC. He finished 14th in the final standings.
