Bryan Bouffier plans to build on his first stage victory on this year’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín when Saturday afternoon’s stages get underway shortly.

Bouffier was fastest through stage five to close to within 12.5s of first place at the wheel of the Peugeot France 207 Super 2000 he shares with co-driver Xavier Panseri.

Speaking during midday service, Bouffier said: “I tried to improve my speed and up to now it’s not so bad. I spun on the long stage but didn’t lose a lot of time. The car is working very well, I just have to push some more. My target is to win but the other guys are pushing a lot – it is a big battle for sure.”

Asked about his spin, Bouffier said: “It was a right corner and for sure it was a bit too quick. I was in the gravel I spin and I have to turn back in the stage.”
