Ex-Grand Prix driver Alex Caffi says he is enjoying his Rallye Monte-Carlo debut at the wheel of a Škoda Fabia Super 2000.

The 46-year-old from Italy has limited experience in rallying but completed day one of the event in an impressive 14th overall.

He said: “It’s getting better and better. We made some adjustments to the car between stage three and stage four and it helped. I’m not that young but I’m having a lot of pleasure.”

He added: “Compared to F1, this is another kind of sport, but it’s difficult and exciting. I love very much and I am very proud to be in this race.”
