For the first time since the beginning of the season the Citroën cars did not post the fastest laps.
The second free practice at Le Castellet saw two Chevrolet RML cars on top, with Hugo Valente (1:30.673) first and Tom Chilton (1:30.802) second.
Tiago Monteiro (1:31.162) placed his Honda Civic in third position just ahead of a third Chevrolet of Dušan Borković (1:31.222).
Yvan Muller was classified fifth, and first of the Citroën squad (1:31.483), followed by his team-mate José María López and Gabriele Tarquini’s Honda. Sébastien Loeb and Gianni Morbidelli rounded off the top-ten; the fastest of the LADA was Rob Huff’s, in 12th position.
Franz Engstler’s BMW was fastest in the TC2T class once again, ahead of John Filippi’s SEAT.
