Flying Dutchman Nicky Catsburg will be hoping to make some fast starts during his first full season in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Catsburg joined LADA Sport Rosneft for its home race in Moscow last June and immediately impressed with his pace, particularly in qualifying.

And a technical overhaul of the factory Vestas for 2016 has given the 28-year-old a big boost ahead of the upcoming season, which starts with WTCC Race of France from 1-3 April.

“For me personally I hope the starts are going to be a bit easier with the new start system we have,” said Catsburg. “There have been some improvements made so I’m really looking forward to see what the guys have managed to do over the winter.”

Catsburg his combining his WTCC bid with a GT campaign. He won the Zolder 24 Hours last season.
