Nicky Catsburg is hopeful of continuing his FIA World Touring Car Championship presence following a solid debut season with LADA Sport Rosneft.

Catsburg signed in time for WTCC Race of Russia in early June after establishing a strong reputation in GT racing.

Despite his absence of touring car experience, the Dutchman scored an impressive fourth place finish in the second event at Moscow Raceway. He was fourth again in China, having qualified third for the opening race of the Shanghai weekend, and completed the season in P12 with 41 points.

“It’s been a great introduction to touring car racing for me this year,” said Catsburg. “It was a year of highs and lows for sure. I would like to thank the team for the opportunity to race for LADA Sport Rosneft this season and I hope to join the team in WTCC again next year.”
