Marco Cavigioli, who is chasing the inaugural IRC Production Cup crown on the Cyprus Rally, says versatility will be the key to a strong result on the Pafos-based event.

The Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer driver has never competed in Cyprus before and admits the combination of gravel and asphalt roads won’t be easy to adapt to.

“It’s the first time for me in Cyprus and with mixed gravel and asphalt surface a versatile drive is needed to win,” said the GMA Racing pilot. “But I hope I will have an advantage with my Yokohama racing gravel tyre, which is ideally suited to this event.”

Monica Fortunato is co-driving Cavigioli, the inaugural IRC 2WD Cup champion in 2008.
