Burcu Çetinkaya says she is more concerned about building her experience behind the wheel of her ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 than chasing a top result on the Cyprus Rally, the deciding round of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

The 30-year-old from Istanbul, the first female driver to score points in the IRC, is tackling her second event in the Czech car that she shares with fellow Turk Çiçek Güney.

“First of all they are new stages and it’s only my second rally in this car,” said Çetinkaya. “Also I was not able to do any testing so it’s going to be difficult. I will not say I can fight for the top places because I have to be realistic. I do not have the experience and I am not fast enough at the moment but I try to be fast, gain the experience and be in the top 10.”
