Harry Hunt, who will tackle Rallye Sanremo for a third time this week, has described the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier as one of his favourite events in the world.

Hunt, the defending IRC 2WD Cup champion, competes on several international rallies each year but savours taking part on the Italian event, which he will contest this season in a Citroën DS3 R3T.

“I can’t wait for Rallye Sanremo,” said the i-Cars Motorsport driver. “This will be my third time there and it’s one of my favourite rallies. Everybody loves this event. In the team, this is the rally which everybody wants to come on, the atmosphere is just incredible. The rally itself isn’t as regimented as some other events; it’s just over 24 hours long and one of the most exciting of the year. We have a 44-kilometre stage (Ronde), which starts at 2233hrs on Friday. We have 77 pages of pacenotes for this one stage, it’s just fantastic!”

Hunt, 23, will be co-driven by fellow Briton Robbie Durant. They have been competing together since April’s Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés.
