For the next WTCC event that takes place this weekend at Shanghai, the running weights of Honda and Chevrolet cars will change once again.

According to the calculation of the Compensation Weight based on the three previous events –Spa-Francorchamps, Termas de Río Hondo and Beijing Goldenport – the Chevrolet RML Cruze cars will be laden by a further 20 kilos of ballast, which increase their total extra weight to 40 kilos.

At the same time the compensation weight of the Honda Civic cars is reduced to 20 kilos, ten less than last week in Beijing.

The Citroën C-Elysée remains the reference model and receives once again the maximum compensation weight of 60 kg (in addition to the minimum weight of 1100 kg) compared to Chevrolet’s 40 and Honda’s 20.

The LADA Granta cars will keep on running with no handicap weight on board despite Rob Huff’s victory at Beijing. The Russian vehicles continue to progress and their gap, calculated on the basis of the three latest events, has been further reduced to 1.7 seconds.

Compensation weight Shanghai:
+ 60 kg : Citroën C-Elysée
+ 40 kg : Chevrolet RML Cruze
+ 20 kg : Honda Civic
± 0 kg : LADA Granta
