Competitors rave over Scotland course

After completing the pre-event reconnaissance, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers believe this year’s RACMSA Rally of Scotland will be the fastest and most competitive yet.

“This is some race we’ve got on our hands,” says Peugeot UK’s Kris Meeke, last year’s IRC champion. “It’s going to be so quick. Everybody can be really committed.”

“The competitors all came back from the recce with stupidly big grins plastered over their faces,” said Iain Campbell, Rally of Scotland Clerk of the Course. “Guy Wilks said to me, ‘I don’t know where we are but it’s not Scotland, these stages are so smooth and fast.’

“From the feedback we’ve had after the recce, we’re expecting a superb event. The weather has been really kind to us. I’ve even seen a bit of blue sky and what looked like an orange disc…”
