IRC 2WD Cup contender Robert Consani admits he is uncertain ahead of Rally San Marino getting underway on Friday morning.

Consani is back behind the wheel of a Renault Clio R3 for the gravel round having used a Renault Mégane RS on the recent IRC events on asphalt.

“Switching cars is not the problem, for me the problem is gravel because this is only the second time for me on gravel and I am afraid,” said Consani. “I am using a rented car for this rally so this makes it difficult as well.”

Consani, who is co-driven by former IRC champion co-driver Nicolas Klinger, is currently joint third in the IRC 2WD Cup standings.

“I don’t expect to be as quick as Harry [Hunt] and Martin [Kangur] but I hope to score as many points as possible,” he said.
