A London 2012 Olympics medallist will be in action when the Intercontinental Rally Challenge concludes on next month’s Cyprus Rally.

Nasser Al-Attiyah, who won the bronze medal in the men’s skeet shooting event in the summer, is due to tackle the mixed-surface rally from 2-4 November. And he’s no stranger to the event having won in 2010 (photo) and fought for glory last season only for a mechanical failure to force his retirement.

With the event also counting towards the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, Al-Attiyah is revved up to score a strong result in order to close the nine-point deficit he currently faces in the title standings. He will compete in Cyprus on the back of winning the MERC-counting Jordan Rally recently.
