Hannes Danzinger remains on course for ERC 2WD Championship success on the International Jännerrallye.

After 13 stages, Danzinger and co-driver Kathi Wüstenhagen head the category by 3m29.2s in a Renault Clio R3 with Hermann Neubauer and Bernhard Ettel in second in a Suzuki Swift Sport.

“Yesterday was really difficult to find the right tyre choice,” Wüstenhagen told ERC Rally Radio’s Julian Porter. “We were trying to find the right solution. On the first section we got the wrong choice but in the second section we got the right choice in the end and we are leading so it was fine.”

She continued: “Today has been easier to find the right tyre choice because it is raining, raining. Now we are in the lead, it is quite safe and we hope it will be safe at the end.”

Apart from tyre choice issues on Friday morning, Wüstenhagen revealed their only major moment occurred when they briefly went off the road on stage two.
