Grégoire Demoustier made it a point-scoring start to his FIA World Touring Car Championship career when he finished 10th in the second of two races in Argentina last week.

The ex-sportscar racer was competing in his Eurodatacar-liveried Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 for the first time and belied his lack of experience of the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo and the Craft-Bamboo Racing-run entry to post several impressive performances during the weekend.

After qualifying 15th, the 24-year-old Frenchman came home 12th in race one before finishing 10th in the second race in South America.

“I’m happy with the two races but I need to improve my start,” said Demoustier. “My first start was not so good, but my second one was better so I am improving. We did 12 and 10 so it’s pretty good, a first point from our first race weekend. I am pretty happy with that.”

Craft-Bamboo Racing CEO Richard Coleman added: “I’m really pleased with Grégoire’s performance. He improved in each and every session and I’m delighted that he has been rewarded by a championship point in race two. Hopefully now we can get back to Europe and take some extensive testing and I’m sure there will be a big improvement for the second round.”
