Daniel Elena has described the opportunity to tackle the two Col de Turini stages on the final night of Rallye Monte-Carlo as a “special honour”.
The Monegasque, who has co-driven Sébastien Loeb to seven world rally titles and is making a rare appearance behind the wheel, completed stage nine in 60th position overall to earn the right to contest the final four stages of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge event.
He said: “It’s going to be a big enjoyment and really it is a special honour. I am looking forward to the atmosphere tonight because it will be incredible. I know there is a big challenge so I drive with some caution but I drive to enjoy.”
