“I have to be happy”

Roger Feghali says he is satisfied to be third overall following the completion of the opening day of the FxPro Cyprus Rally, despite hopes that he would be challenging for victory on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge event.

Feghali, from Lebanon, has been hamstrung all day by a bent rear suspension arm, which he sustained on Thursday’s opening Lemesos Super Special Stage. A lack of spare parts meant he has been unable to replace the component.

“Of course my aim was to beat these guys but to be third on my first time on gravel in this car is not bad, especially because I don’t have much experience of this car,” said the Škoda Fabia Super 2000 driver. “I am competing against guys in proper teams with proper budgets so I have to be happy.”

Feghali is 57.4s off the lead heading into day two of the mixed-surface event.
