Mark Wallenwein said his first taste of the legendary Col de Turini on Rallye Monte-Carlo last month was “like a dream”.

The highly rated 23-year-old, who finished 21st on his Intercontinental Rally Challenge season-opener in a Škoda Auto Deutschland run Fabia Super 2000, said he would never forget the experience.

“It was crazy with so many people up there watching,” said the Stuttgart-born driver. “All I can say it was like a dream.”

Wallenwein, who was supported by Germany’s Škoda importer and ADAC Stiftung Sport on Rallye Monte-Carlo, has yet to finalise his programme for the remainder of 2011 but has made clear his desire to remain in the IRC.

The 2011 IRC resumes with Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles from 14-16 April.
