Petter Solberg´s preparations for next week´s Intercontinental Rally Challenge opener are complete after he tested his Peugeot 207 S2000 for four days in France.

Solberg has never competed in a Super 2000 car before – and hasn’t tackled Rallye Monte-Carlo since 2008 – but the Norwegian was happy with his performance.

Solberg’s team manager Ken Rees said: “Petter was really pleased with the way everything went. He did four days, busy days, with a lot of [kilometres] done in the car. He’s got a good idea of what’s coming now, but obviously this was his first taste of Super 2000. He’s relaxed and looking forward to the start now.”

The centenary edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo, which marks Solberg’s debut in the IRC, will receive extensive coverage on Eurosport. Europe’s largest television sports channel is currently showing a series of short historic programmes and clips featuring archive images and highlights of the event since it first ran in 1911.
