Next month’s snow-based Rally Liepāja-Ventspils, round two of the FIA European Rally Championship, is set to be a thriller with confirmation of the GPD Mit Metal Racing Team’s two-car entry.

The Czech Republic-based squad has entered a ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 for Antonín Tlusťák and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX for Jaroslav Orsák.

While Tlusťák – fourth in last year’s ERC standings – was forced to retire from the European championship season-opener in Austria earlier this month, Orsák finished third in the ERC Production Car Cup classification in eighth overall. Both drivers, who hail from Czech Republic, will be in contention for points finishes in Latvia.

Rally Liepāja-Ventspils takes place from 1-3 February. The event will enjoy extensive coverage on Eurosport.
