Toni Gardemeister has told his fans to be patient as he works to build his pace in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Finn Gardemeister is taking part on major IRC campaign with his own team, TGS Worldwide, in a Skoda Fabia Super 2000, which he used for the first time on last month’s Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés.

Although he has scored points on his first two events as a team owner, the 36-year-old admits there is more performance to come.

“There are a lot of things to learn and change,” said Gardemeister. “The set-up is starting to be okay but there still some things to improve, such as with the balance, and the Hankook tyres. But we are making progress, everything will be coming but it’s taking a while. I expect it will be in the second period of the year.”

Gardemeister and co-driver Tapio Suominen will return to IRC action on next week’s Prime Yalta Rally.
